The Chakwera administration recognizes that an efficient, meritocratic, and professional public service is the engine of a developmental state. Since 2020, reforms have targeted strengthening the institutional capacity of government to deliver on development goals.
The administration has been focused on reengineering the structure of the public service, professionalizing state agencies, and ensuring transparent and accountable service delivery across all government departments.

Poor service delivery and limited access to government services, especially in rural areas
