Education is the bedrock of any nation's future, and the Chakwera administration has placed it at the heart of its social development agenda. Acknowledging decades of systemic challenges—overcrowded classrooms, outdated curricula, unmotivated teachers, and limited access in rural areas—the government has committed to transforming education into a springboard for national prosperity. The vision is simple but bold: create a learning environment that equips every Malawian child with the tools to thrive in a modern, knowledge-driven economy.
Since 2020, reforms have focused on improving infrastructure, teacher training, curriculum modernization, and expanding equitable access from early childhood through tertiary education. Technology is also being harnessed to bridge gaps in resources and extend learning opportunities nationwide. By investing in the next generation of thinkers, makers, and leaders, the government seeks to break the cycle of poverty and chart a course to shared prosperity.
