Blantyre City Modern Road Network

Since 2020, the road network in the commercial city of Blantyre has come under notable transformation through a number of key projects designed to ease traffic congestion and support socioeconomic activities of residents and visitors alike.

The President has ensured that all cities get their fair share of development with modern infrastructure in all sectors of the economy.

Some of the Blantyre City road projects are as follows.  

·         Newlands -Manje via Chiwembe Road (2Km)

·         Lali Lubani Road across Masauko Chipembere highway via Malawi Polytechnic Village-Kenyatta drive (1.7 Km)

·         Namiwawa-Sunnyside (Bank road and Smythe road (2Km)

·         Chipatala Avenue - Kamba Road (1.2Km)

·         Ndirande - Nkolokoti (Makheta) Road (5km)

·         North Road – Limbe Market Street Road

·         Mahatma Ghandi- Kapeni Road expansion

·         Stella Marris – Chilobwe By-Pass Road (1.5km)
