Grand Ruo Bridge

Sometime in 2015, the flooding Ruo River cut off communities at Makhanga and Chiromo leaving them disconnected from socioeconomic activities and services.  

To address this problem, the Chakwera administration is constructing a grand Ruo Bridge is being constructed near Makhanga in Nsanje northeast and it will carry a railway line and a dual lane road.

Nsanje and Bangula will be much easier to access by road via Makwasa and Thekerani.
