University Innovation Pod – MUBAS

The Malawi everyone aspires for rests on a youth-centric industrial revolution of which innovation is a major component.

With that in mind, the Chakwera administration has with help from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) set up a University Innovation Pod (Unipod) facility at Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) in Blantyre.

This hi-tech innovation hub is set up on a triumvirate of innovation, entrepreneurship and job creation at a time Malawi is transitioning to a digital economy. It is creating a market-ready knowledge system that feeds into all key industries of our economy thereby enhancing the wealth creation drive. 

The hub is also accessible to larger communities outside the university thereby honing innovation skills of the whole country in the process.
